901.6.2 Fire alarm systems. Fire alarm systems required by the provisions of Section 907.2 of this code and the Florida Fire Prevention Code shall be monitored by an approved supervising station in accordance with Section 907.6.5. Single- and multiple-station smoke alarms required by Section 907.2.11. Smoke detectors in Group. With some exceptions, the 1991 Standards set the maximum height for controls that can be reached by a side reach at 54 inches above the floor or ground; the 2010 Standards, at section 308.3, lower the maximum height (whether by side or forward approach) to 48 inches.

Fire Alarm Manual Pull Station Height Code Requirements

The requirements for manual pull stations as per NFPA 72 are pretty trivial and straight-forward. NFPA 72 requires that manual pull stations be installed within 60 inches of the exit doorway of each exit, mounted between 42 inches and 48 inches to the center of the handle, and, among other things, be red in color.
